Harmony Kingdom on the Internet: 1995 | ||
Computers have always been an integral part of Harmony Ball Company. HBC was fully computerised prior to its incorporation, thanks to Noel's interest and aptitude. Convinced that the Internet would be an extremely powerful means of communication, Noel hired a young Internet guru named Grasshopper in June 1995 who posted a primitive web site by late 1995. Grasshopper's successor, Christopher Sosa, was instrumental in creating the official Harmony Kingdom web site in September 1996. Towards the end of 1996 a chat room was created, the first of its kind in the collectibles industry. In addition, top retailers were listed on the web site, enabling collectors to locate hard-to-find pieces. Retailers and collectors had access to an unprecedented amount of information through the Harmony Kingdom web site, which generated enormous interest in the collection. The International Collectible Exposition in Long Beach in April 1997 brought another first to the collectibles industry. HBC's Internet Division (HBC-ID) broadcast via the Internet a live feed from the show, updating the Harmony Kingdom site every few hours. This enabled collectors and retailers who weren't able to attend to share in the festivities. Harmony Kingdom's web site, http://www.HarmonyKingdom.com, is updated weekly and is a must-go destination for any avid collector. It has been visited over half a million times. Here you can read the latest news from Harmony Kingdom, view the entire collection, learn about upcoming events, find dealer listings throughout the world, and access the chat and bulletin board. |
