Peter’s first close up sighting of whales was on a visit to Cape Cod in June 1996 with the Perry family after the Rosemont International Collectibles Exhibition. Some pieces include the mouse on the whale’s left fin; others have no mouse. Within this box figurine is the HBC logo, a mermaid’s tail disappearing into the depths, and a fish jumping the waves. “Deep Blue” is inscribed in the lid, and “I hate Ninevah” faintly inscribed inside. Due to production difficulties, the base was redesigned to shorten the waves. Hallmarks include ©, heart, HBC logo, ed.#, and Pc.
