Peter chose beavers as the theme for his 2011 Romance Annual for two reasons. Firstly, beavers pair for life, a requirement for the Romance pieces, and secondly, he hadn’t carved a beaver themed box figurine since 1995’s “Damnable Plot”. “Tunnel of Love”, a fixed edition of 400, is replete with inscriptions: “Castor Canadensis” is the scientific name for the Canadian Beaver, “lodge” is the home of the beaver, “kits” are the young, and “merkin” – well, we suggest you look that up on Wikipedia.
