Peter is always nervous about carving horses because his wife, Andrea, is a horse expert and can be quite critical of his efforts. So it was with huge relief that she approved of his most recent effort, “Free and Easy”. Although Andrea may have been impressed, Paul Frape, the gentleman who has the task of making molds from Peter’s sculptures, was less than pleased by all of the gangly legs. It is these production difficulties that have historically made horses rarities within the HK collection. Despite the serious depiction, Peter couldn’t resist carving a cartoon horse within this box figurine. Look for a “TKA” inscription under a hoof. This stands for Tony and Kathy Allocco, avid Harmony Kingdom collectors who have invited Andrea to a cattle drive, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! |
