This duckling box figurine reminds Peter of the tranquility of early summer, fishing at his favourite lake. His excuse for not catching anything? He was distracted by all of the young mallards, coots and moorhens paddling about. At the time of carving, a certain World Cup was underway and some of the early results for the USA team are inscribed. As usual, UK football fans went from believing they could win the Jules Rimet Trophy at the beginning of the tournament to pretending the World Cup never took place just three weeks later. Other inscriptions include “dad”, referring to Father’s Day June 20, and “70-68”, recording the record length of the fifth set at Wimbledon, when John Isner finally beat Nicolas Mahut. A childhood favourite of Peter’s, Daffy Duck, can be found inside. This 300 piece edition is divided between 150 black Version 1’s and 150 brown Version 2’s. Peter couldn’t decide which coloration he preferred, so we produced both! |
