During Peter’s 2009 “Summer of Love” signing tour, he spotted a small wicker basket at host My Doll Shop’s Florida store. He knew it would look great in a carving, so proprietor Lynn McEnany kindly gave him two. Upon Peter’s return to England, one was immediately devoured by his terrier Bart, but the other served as a model for “Wicker & Whiskers”. Four adorable (“sigh”) kittens were added, along with a dead mouse in the interior. Mount Dora, the location of Lynn’s shop, receives mention on the lid. Also inscribed on the lid is “Borg”, not in reference to the former #1 from Sweden but meaning boy or girl. Only Lynn from My Doll Shop may know the answer!
