Man has attempted to domesticate the cat for over 9500 years, with questionable success. These furry, lovable creatures do have minds of their own! They sleep on average between 12 and 16 hours a day, yet it always seems like they are awake and ready to play when we want to sleep, bouncing on our pillows, tangling up our hair, racing across our chests, and running up the drapery. While our favorite felines sit calmly in our laps during the day, come nighttime, they share a kinship with their wild cousins, prowling our homes for anything that moves. Cats have excellent daylight vision, but their night vision is exceptional. In the dark, the cat is queen, and there’s nothing to be done to dethrone her. |
