The black heron is probably best known for its unusual feeding technique. It stands in shallow water and then, using its wings, forms an umbrella over its body. It is believed that fish are attracted to the shade created by the umbrella. In Madagascar, the black heron is called “Lomba Comba” which means “he who fishes indoors.” The interior of “Under The Canopy” shows a fish fighting back, Clint Eastwood style. |
